Thinking about Claudia Angelmaier and Spiral Jetty
I saw this photograph in Alexis Rockman's Manifest Destiny and was amazed at how bizarre it looked. I thought I would dig up another photo as a comparison (which ultimately led to scanning every image I saw in publications featuring this work over the next few months). Green rocks and blue water = really??? Is this even the Great Salt Lake?

and a slow day with nothing much happening so we don't have to update the blog.
and a day in the desert sun that doesn't produce a headache.
and luck for tomorrow's drive.
and a helium tank (CHECK), a pilot (CHECK), and a night's sleep consisting of more than five hours (CHECK).
AND A MOTEL IN FLAGSTAFF THAT HAS HIGH SPEED INTERNET, SWEET DREAMS BEFORE WE WAKE UP TO GET THERE, AND OUR LATEST VIDEO TO UPLOAD FASTER THAN EVER BEFORE!
and margaritas and a good meal in Las Vegas.
