Idea for Earthworks Performance: The Beautification Project
The Uniform: close approximations of what the artists wore when creating these sculptures gleaned from old photographs.
Cleaning and restoration:
Visit Home Depot once arriving in SLC.
Buy graffiti removal, lawn care equipment, etc.
Weed & mow around earthworks (knowing full well that this is a desert and there won't be grass).
Donate all equipment to the Chinati Foundation at the end of the trip.
Mission Accomplished.
The element of domesticity combined with the masculine ideology behind these works is worthy of exploring.

what i've found out about Lightning Field

It's a three hour drive from Albuquerque to the middle of nowhere. A caretaker hired by DIA then drives you another hour to the site. It's best to go midweek early in the visiting season because you share the cabin with a total of six other people - unless we want the shared experience with others. The cabin does have three bedrooms and two baths though. Do I sound like a travel agent yet?
It's windy as hell with rugged terrain = no high heels.
Proposed Itinerary
Day 1: Fly to Salt Lake City and find a motel.
Day 2: Drive approximately 100 miles to Golden Spike National Monument and Spiral Jetty. Spend a full day there and return to a motel somewhere near there off I-15 or back in SLC.
Day 3: Motel in Wendover, Utah. See the Bonneville Salt Flats and CLUI.
Day 4: Lucin, Utah - Nancy Holt's Sun Tunnels. Start the drive to Panguitch, Utah (approximately 5 hours) and find a motel there as it is the Gateway to Bryce Canyon.
